Golf Improvement Testimonies
"Lynn and Andy, From the excellent physical therapy/golf related exercise to the lessons using your state of the art technology to your club-fitting, repair and putter technology, you really have all the bases covered. I never felt any pressure, just a sense that you all cared about me getting better. In the short time I have been going to Totally Driven, I am striking the ball better, have improved my short game and physically feel much better. I can even get off the 1st tee without embarrassment!" "I dropped 10 strokes off my game since getting fitted for clubs at Totally Driven!" "Andy, just wanted to say a huge thank you for doing such a great job with my clubs. Since having my shafts replaced and pured, I have noticed a significant improvement in feel, accuracy and distance control. On my first round with my “tuned up” clubs, I got my first hole-in-one and have since come within inches of another and the new driver you built gave me 20 more yards off the tee. Keep up the great work and I have told all my friends what a big difference a trip to Totally Driven can make." "I’m hitting my driver much straighter, my irons more consistently, I love my new hybrid...and my handicap is going down!"
It's been a little over a month and several rounds of golf since I finished up with my series of lessons at Totally Driven so I wanted to give a little feedback on the impact they've had on my game. In my first two 9-hole league outings at Tartan Park, I scored 39 and 36. In my last senior tournament outing at Prestwick, I carded 38-38=76, about 6 strokes lower than I usually score there.
As you may recall, the reason I took the lessons from you was because I needed to improve my driving distance and you guaranteed I'd have results. Last year I was only averaging about 220 yards off the tee on a good day. In one of my 9 hole outings I used my range finder on each driving hole to measure my actual yardage and recorded it. That day the average for the 6 holes you want a long drive on was slightly over 270 yards with one exceeding 300 yards!! Last week in league I kept track of what iron I had to use for each shot into the green. During the 9 holes, the longest club needed was an 8 iron. Not bad considering that four of the holes are between 400 and 420 yards long and last year I'd often be using a 2, 4 or 5 iron.
I know there's still more to be gained so I'll be back next winter for more help from you,"

The fitting you did for Taylor really helped her game. She shaved 10 strokes of her fall scores and made all conference this spring and finished 13th in regions." Bob A
Just wanted to thank you for the great service and excellent set of irons, but also for introducing me to the Tour Tempo. I read the book first (which I highly recommend before using the device) I've never looked at the swing in that way before and it just clicks when you read it. After learning most tour pros are at the 21/7 ratio I decided to build my swing around that.
I took my new clubs to the dome and focused on nothing but starting the club on the right path and Tempo. I must have hit 20 in a row perfect with my 7 iron right in the center of the clubface. The three beeps get easier to judge and it is amazing how much better the ball striking is with what seems to be less effort. The tendinitis I developed from years of horrible tempo and smashing into the ground was not bothered one bit and I must have hit for over an hour.
Thanks again for the clubs I will be back for a new driver when the season starts. I will be referring anyone I come across to your shop."
Thanks, Jeremy Wahlstrom
I am now in AZ for the winter and so far my driving of the ball has never been better. I am hitting more than 75% of the fairways and am driving it longer than last year. Thanks for fitting me properly."
Just wanted to tell you I really like my new clubs. I am getting used to the driver but still hitting it better than my old club. And love the 3 wood.

Thanks for the great job you did in customizing my Srixion irons this past year. Since I changed from my non custom Titilest irons my handicap has gone from 8.5 to my current 6.0. My consistency has really improved. With my other irons I stayed away from my hitting my 4 and 5 irons. Not only are those two irons much more consistent with my Srixions but the new 3 iron you just made for me, I could hit well immediately. That is absolutely amazing to me since just a year ago I would never of even tried to hit my 4 iron under any type of pressure.
Thanks again Andy for your help."

Six weeks or so ago, when I took my initial physical evaluation and you recommended an exercise program for me, I figured it was going to be the "same old same old". How wrong I was.
I'm 64 years old, have had surgery on my back and both rotator cuffs, and have led a pretty active and punishing lifestyle - everything from water and snow skiing to aircraft aerobatics and off-road racing.
In the last few years I have tried a Bowflex (took out one of the rotator cuffs), the YMCA (pretty much ruined myself on those dang machines) and actually joined a "health club" for awhile (I just can't get into going someplace after work to exercise unless it's my own place).
None of them had succeeded in attaining the goal of just getting some of the flexibility that I have lost over the years. I don't expect a lot, what with the back problem and just an overweight, abused body but I don't need more abuse. That's what I got until I started the TPI program. I am pretty competitive and that is what causes me to overdo the exercise programs. The TPI program has very reasonable limits on how far you go with each exercise. Good guidance, which I had never had before, so I was able to see progress almost immediately.
I am amazed at how easy this has been. And, I improved my "Handicap" by a pretty good margin.
I can touch my toes for the first time in 30 years. I can turn my upper body enough so that I think I will actually be able to take a decent backswing (got to learn how to do that now through some lessons).
The exercises are relatively easy, get a little more intense as you go through the process, but are tailored to what I need, not to some 25 year old athlete.
Because of that, I had fun doing them, didn't dread when an exercise day was upon me, and I am enthusiastic about continuing on a maintenance routine as I enter the next step of my training.
Thank you for a great experience."

With several rounds under my belt with the new irons, I can say that the work that Andy has done exceeds my expectations! Just by determining the correct swing weight, length, flex, and lie, Andy was able to eliminate a glaring problem that had nagged me for years. The clubs feel spectacular, look spectacular, and perform spectacular!
I was treated with nothing but the finest in professionalism and expertise. To Andy, Jon, and their colleagues, I say, "Bravo!" And thank you."

I have been listening to your podcasts for about 1 ½ years and find them very informative, motivating, and entertaining.
Having only been a serious golfer for about 3 years I am constantly looking for tips on how to improve my game, which can be confusing and cause more problems than solutions. One piece of advice I learned early in my journey to learn the game was to spend a few bucks and get lessons from a PGA professional.
I took lessons from Golf Galaxy in Appleton, WI which covered every part of my game except putting – which was mostly my fault as I directed what needed to be covered at each lesson.
Recently I heard you referenced a podcast with Geoff Mangan and the folks at Totally Driven that covered “The Putting Zone” that I remember hearing earlier this year. On Wednesday(4/24/09) I was coming home from a business trip to Minneapolis and decided to check out Totally Driven where I met Andy Thompson, who had time to give me a putting lesson. He demonstrated most of what I was doing was wrong and in about 45 minutes had me putting consistently and confidently. On Friday(4/24/09) I tried out what I had learned and was practicing(for 1 day) during a round with customers at “The Bull” in Sheboygan Falls that is consistently rated as one of Wisconsin’s top 10 courses. On the first hole I started to hear the ribbing about the recent putting lesson, until I dropped a 12 footer. And then on the second hole when I hit an 8’ put, the guys started asking who this miracle worker was. I didn’t hit every one, but left my second puts closer to the hole than I had in the past
When it was all done my co-worker was done with his reign of success over my golf game. After losing by 10 strokes he started with the comments about being early in the season and not playing well. I humbly agreed and said that hopefully as the season progresses I will have more to practice what Andy Thompson had taught me and my game will also improve. The confidence from my putting helped my entire game.
Thanks for introducing me to the folks at Totally Driven,"

ALL RIGHT!!!!! The new Taylor Made R9 was set up perfectly! 8 of 14 fairways hit ( with 3 more just off in the first cut because I drove through a dogleg)! WOW, nice driver. Might have hit all the fairways if I hadn’t tried to “muscle” a couple of shots. When I swing within myself, the ball just flies longgggggg and pretty straight. For the first time in 30 years of “golf” the ball is actually hitting the spot I am aiming at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, if the irons get set up in a similar fashion, and I get some short game from Lynn, I’m in business!
I guess it’s true - you get what you pay for."
Sincerely,
Dan Humes
Last fall I came to you for a putter fitting which turned into as much of a lesson as a fitting and since then I have been doing as you suggested as far as turning my head at what I would feel as the speed of the putt before making the stroke. On Sunday I shot 75 (career best) at Rush Creek with 28 putts and I never made a practice stroke with the putter! Just turned my head at the right speed, delayed a second, and fired. If I felt the speed was wrong, I would repeat until I felt it was right. Your method really works. Just thought I'd let you know I feel you are doing really good work.
Thanks,"

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you both very much for helping me last week. After the purchase of my new Cleveland Irons something changed in my swing causing me to come over the top. By putting me on video just once and having Lynn explain what she saw in my swing, I have been able to self-correct the problem. In fact, I am just coming off of a 6 round, 4 day golf outing which included a 79 at Greystone and a career best three-over par 75 at Rush Creek. Your company’s effort in going the extra mile to help a customer has made sure Totally Driven is the only stop for my golf equipment needs. I am doing my best to talk my golfing buddies to do the same."

"Lynn, Andy and Jon: I want to thank you again for helping me improve my golf game. When I came in I was frustrated and my game was in need of improvement. I was intrigued by your total golf improvement program.
"Andy: I want to thank you for spending so much time fitting me with my new Edel Putter. The first time I played with it I only played 9 holes, but made putts from 25,28 and 30 feet. I also made all of my 5 footers. Knowing that my putter is now adjusted for what my eyes see has given me the confidence I have lacked throughout my golf career. I can honestly say that anyone who is serious about their game would greatly benefit by having their putting stroke analyzed by you, and having you find the right Edel putter that works for them.
The new irons are absolutely amazing! I am glad you were able to determine that more swing-weight was needed. It’s really the first time I have ever felt where the head was during the downswing. Also, having the shafts PURE’d has made a difference as well.
Thanks for all of your expertise, I wish you the very best,"
"Andy, Jon and Lynn:
On Saturday I hit 13 of 14 fairways (the one I missed was too long and went into a trap that I thought was beyond my reach).
On Sunday I hit 11 of 14 fairways with the three others missed by a total of 6 feet!
I hit shorter irons into some of the greens than I have in many years. I should have won the event, but my short game was a little off. Thanks again for your help!”
“The driver you fit me for is fantastic! I have never been as consistent and I have more distance now. The fitting was a great experience and very thorough. The right fit is showing results!”
“I found the service at Totally Driven to be impeccable and efficient. The owners are quite genuine. After a short time to get used to the club changes, I am now striking it better than ever. It was well worth the trip from Ontario!
